Railroad cars, Region of Pirkanmaa

On an abandoned railroad, at an abandoned railroad depot and abandoned junction, stand five railroad cars. Three railroad macadam cars, a snowplough car (*, and perhaps as the most intriguing of them all — the prison transport car.

Traffic at the depot began in 1938 and ended in 1985. The cars in particular were probably brought there sometime later. Anyway, in we went, and pictures were taken.

(* On the other hand, I have to note that snowplough cars have always had a special place in my UE-nerve. Probably the first “UE-site” I ever visited was one of those. It was a car that had been sitting on a service rail next to one of our friend group’s favourite playgrounds for as long as we could remember — abandoned. At the ripe age of nine or ten, we finally got the nerve to jump across the tracks and sneak in…)

Industrial building, Tampere

Been driving past this site for an decade, or two. No history of the site is available, nor the year of abandonment. Judging from the very little equipment left, it might have had something to do with metal works. Smelting, melting, casting or whatnot. Anyway, in we went, and pictures were taken.

Farm House, Ylöjärvi

The estate itself can already be seen on maps from the year 1921. The current main house is probably not that old, but old altogether. The balance between vandalism and the decay of time was somewhat in balance. See for yourselves:

Pump House, Tampere

The pump house was probably part of the water supply system for the Lielahti paper mill back in the day (visited, for example, in this post: https://raidsquad.blogspot.com/2006/04/kuvapivitys.html ). The mill itself is located right next to the lake, but apparently, even then, they realized that the water quality near the factory was terrible—it had to be pumped from further away. A small site in a beautiful spot, pretty trashed, but shown here in pictures:
